Bioeconomy

path to green economy

The bioeconomy is not only an approach to sustainable development of many sectors of the economy, e.g. agriculture and food processing, forestry, fisheries, biotechnology and pharmacy. But rather the undertaking to phase out fossil fuel imports and to switch to renewable resources.

The aim is to make optimal use of natural products and their processing into useful products along the value chain, clean energy and fuels. As well as their integration in already existing grids and simultaneous generation of new value chains.

At present, the bioeconomy in Europe is already an important part of the economy and is already strongly supported. The independence of fossil fuels are politically as well as energy carrier are key for the European bioeconomy. Biomass is the only candidate to replace the whole product spectrum of crude oil. Therefore, procurement and sustainable development of biomass is essential to make progress.
